Galaxy Aurora IB for
the Next Generation Post Facility
Digital technology is reshaping the motion picture industry. Digital image capture, visual
effects, mastering and final color grading are rapidly replacing legacy analog processes
and creating the Next Generation Post Facility. The Galaxy® Aurora IB storage product
from Rorke Data is a purpose-built storage system uniquely suited to supporting these
new digital processes.
Until now, support for storing and moving 2K and 4K digital images through a network
has been expensive and complex. Galaxy® Aurora IB is specifically designed to support
new high speed networks based on our unique integration of leading-edge SAS disk
technologies and InfiniBand [IB] high speed network interfaces. The recent availability of
20 Gbit and 40 Gbit InfiniBand components has dramatically reduced the cost and
complexity for high speed networking.
